I have briefly read the info at:

Is there any benefit in installing the recovery console rather than just using it from the win xp install cd?

thanks in advance.

From what I can tell and used, the recovery console on CD and the one you install have pretty much the same functionality.

garebo.

From MS
Although you can run the Recovery Console by starting directly from the Windows XP CD, it is generally more convenient to set it up as a startup option on your startup menu.

This would make it like a multiple OS choice. If you did not have the XP CD i.e. laptop while traveling or any other reason can't remember where I put it etc. you could still load the RC. It is not very large.

I would consider this a benefit, but I can think of none other than this.

Let's see what other's think

Ya, thats the one obvious situation. I was wondering if there were any other. There are so many smart people here with so much knowledge that its worth asking a seemingly "duh" question, lol. You think you know the answer and sometimes you get thrown a curve.
