If we were to update a Windows Server SP1 with SP2, does that essentially make that equal to a Windows Server 2003 R2?

ok thanks Pat! Is there a way to upgrade to R2 or is that an entire upgrade?

Ok, the reason I am asking, we are looking to do replication on three servers but they are all 2003 standard SP1. So it looks like we should stick to FRS as opposed to DFS Replication which seems a bit nicer.... but oh well. any other thoughts?

The DFS in R2 is much more efficient, as it sends only the parts of the file that changed, not the entire file. It also throttles bandwidth better.

And, last I checked, there is no SP2 for Server 2003, so I don't know where you go that from.

Thank you fro the correction, I had it in my mind earlier that R2 was equivilent to SP2, thank you for that. Is replication a simple thing to setup? I am researching this now.
