Where do i set them for a XP2500+ Barton AMD CPU? When i first booted it up it was only reading the CPU as a 1100,and this is what the setting were..

BIOS is Amibios version 3.31a,on a MSI KT4V MB..

The CPU package said the XP 2500+ had a 333 FSB if that matters..

Spread Spectrum--0.25%
CPU FSB Clock----100 mhz
CPU Ratio--------Auto
CPU Vcore(V)-----Auto
DDR Voltage (V)--Auto
Terminal Vol (V)-Auto
AGP Voltage (V)--Auto

I changed the CPU FSB Clock setting slowly till it read 2500+ and i ended up with CPU FSB Clock as 155 mhz..

Is that all i need to chage? or do i need to change any of the rest of the settings?

Also what is a good safe CPU temp to run?I will keep a check on it as well..I have 6 fans in the case,2 Tornado's and 3 cheaper case fans..

Thanks
Steve

Just checked all my stats..here they are the PC has been running for over 3 hours non stop..

CPU- 50'C/122'F
System Temp- 32'C/89'F
CPU fan speed 4218 RPM

Vcore - 1.680V
+ 5.0V - 5.140V
+12.0V - 12.593V
-12.0V - -12.400V
-5.0V - -5.428V
Battery - 3.376V
+5V SB - 4.993V

These look right?Still new at this kinda stuff..

Thanks
Steve

I think i got most of it figured out now..I ended up with 166 CPU FSB Clock.."makes sense it's half of 333" Do i need to mess with any of the other settings, like the Ratio? on AMD site it said 11x clock multiple. In my BIOS it is set of Auto,so it will automatically set it where it needs to be correct?

Thanks
Steve

Most BIOSes seem to set everything correctly (as far as CPU settings are concerned) except the Front Side Bus speed. That is the only setting that should not be left to auto, IMO.

Not sure why, it just seems to happen with every motherboard except, maybe, ASUS. MSI particularly tend to be very conservative - but great boards once you've tweaked them.

Your stats look perfectly reasonable - but you may be able to save a couple of degrees on CPU temperature by tidying cables and ensuring airflow goes from the lower front fan to the upper top. Especially now that you've raised the FSB - you may find you gain a couple of degrees.

Nothing to worry about - you're well inside the "comfortable" operating range - just that you can never run too cool.

Hope this helps
