Our company has plans to flip the switch in our windows 2000 mixed mode environment to native mode becasue we finally got rid of our NT4 servers. However, a question has come up on what impact will this have on our exchange 5.5 server. it's currently on a windows 2000 server, but what would be some of the gotcha's that i'd need to look out for.

if anyone has any support documentation or white papers regarding this please post.

Thank you.

This will have no impact on your Exchange server unless you upgrade to Exchange 2003 which interacts on many levels with AD. I have run AD on Windows 2000 machines for several years and it works like they were built side by side. I don't know of any white papers or major documentation to alleviate your concerns. I hope someone else does. Best of luck.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

ok did a little fact finding, but i'm looking for some confirmation.

In our current config, i was told that we'll loose communications to the exchange server because NT autentication will be cut off unless we install the active directory connector as if you were doing a 2K or 2K3 migration. Is this accurate?

I was also informed that we should heavily consider migrating now to a 2k or 2k3 exchange if we really want to consider going native.

any other thoughts suggestions, comments, concerns are much appreciated here.
