I am fairly new to the Definity Programming world and I would like to setup loudspeaker paging for the office. There is an existing port setup for paging, but the physical hardware (speaker etc.) is not in place. I wanted to get some pointers on what type of speakers to get and how to physically connect them to the board. Any setup guides or pointers you could suggest would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Large office paging systems are quite common but are generally all custom installations.

Depending on the location, and quantity of speakers you require, and any supported other services, a loudspeaker paging sytem can be vast and expensive or small and easily managed.

As you can well imagine the auto garage that needs a single horn speaker to page mechanics is very different from a multi-story office with paging, and ambient music requirements.

I would consult with a local audio services company. Most all of them have some experience with attaching a paging system to a PBX. Trying to do this yourself might be a bit more than you want.

Think of this as a separate installation that will simply cross over to the PBX as an input.

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)
