When opening a document in Qxp 6.1 it does not alert you of any missing fonts. you have to go to the font usage to check which fonts did not load. the older versions had a alert pop-up window that would give you the names of the missing fonts. Is there an extension available that will give quark 6.1 that feature back? [bigcheeks]

Ive used quark 6.1 since it came out and it has allways notified me of missing fonts. Not sure why yours doesnt. Try contacting quark and asking if there is a setting for this?

My Quark 6.1 alerts me whenever a font is missing.

Go into your Quark Preferences & under "Font Mapping" make sure that the "Do not display the "Missing Font" dialogue box is NOT checked off.

I've seen this problem if you have the Suitcase XT active in quark but not actually enabled. If this is the case, you can either disable the Suitcase XT from the extensions manager in quark which will give you the Quark alert or you can enable the suitcase extension at Edit - preferences - Suitcase XT which will give you an alert from suitcase.
Hope this helps.
Dave
