I have a quark file which is CMYK plus has several pantone colours defined. It it possible to distill this file and retain the pantone colour definitions? Also, is there anything else I should be checking before sending this to the printers?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, just Postscript it from Quark as composite CMYK it will hold the Pantone Colours (or it will only print the colours used in the job).

Also Make sure you have Bleed if there are any, and trim marks.
I also offset my trims by 16 pt (5mm)
