Everytime I open a document to which I do not have the approproate fonts, my Quark warns me of this and allows me to try and replace the missing fonts. I can get as far as indicating which font I want to replace the missing one but as soon as I click OK, quark freezes. I have 12 machines networked and it does not freeze on all of the machines!?! Any 'tips', or 'try this' would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

STOP TRYING TO REPLACE FONTS!!!

Seriously... Try not replacing fonts when opening. See if they can be replaced after the document has been fully opened.

It may be useful to sync the font folders of the 12 machines in question. Then you would not need to worry about replacing/substituting fonts.

Could you have a bad font? ...Or a font that has the same PostScript name (not necessarily the name displayed in the font menu) that is confusing the Mac?

Thanks, unfortunately that's not an option. I get commercial clients sending files with fonts that will not make it through my RIP (though them been told umpteen times not to...) I believe it to be a preference conflict... somewhere. I've re-installed the program from scratch and still no luck. The most irritating thing is I can replace fonts on certain machines and not others. I've swapped preferences and still no luck.
