Ok. This seems like a simple problem but I am using Quark 5.0. All I need to do is save a logo as a EPS or a tiff in order to import it back into Quark. My problem is that I save as an EPS in quark but when i import it back into quark it prints bright blue. The blue I want is a dark blue but it appears on screen and prints out like a royal blue? Is there any way I can adjust color settings in quark or does this sound familiar at all? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated it is driving me nuts. Thank you

Can you tell me have you changed the Blue in Quark that is the defalut BLUE, or have you created a new colour that is maybe called 'Dark Blue'.

If you have edited the default 'blue' in Quark, then when you bring the eps in your new quark doc, the default blue is already there, so quark changes the blue back to the default blue when you print.

Make up a new colour blue with a new name. I think this is it. Had the same problem five years ago with a client on a 250 page book. Got printed wrong. If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

I also have this problem with my companies corporate ID - we use Pantone Reflex Blue, which I'm led to believe is a notoriously tricky colour to reproduce.
Are you using XPress on a Windows based system?
I'm aware that there are numerous problems with colour when converting from PC to Mac and vice versa.

It could also be that your Quark color management is stepping in when you print directly from Quark, but is not able to modify the colors on eps files. (This is true of all eps, not just those created in Quark.)

You could either disable the colors, or save the Quark elements as a group in a library file instead of as an eps. When added back into the page, they are regular Quark objects and will be managed the same as other objects. It will take a little extra care to be sure you don't accidently modify them, of course.

strange font problem with quark 6 saving to 5.0

I made a document using quark 6. quark saves the doc as a qxp and the printer needs a qxd (or an earlier version I guess). so I saved my file to 5.0 and everything went ok. However when I opened that file I noticed someting very strange with the fonts: the spacing seems to be off, so text boxes look strange. for example text that was in one line moves to two lines, line spacing seems bigger and simlar things. this is very strange because every value seems to be the same...

hope this is clear. if anyone has any idea about how to do this, please help.

thanks
