Hi,
I'm just getting into Quark, so ecuse me if I've missed the obvious.
I've been setting up Master Pages, for a book layout, on which I have put ruler guides. These do not copy through to ordinary pages.

Is it possible to get these to feature throughout the ordinary pages?

Thanks

If you have ruler guides on the master pages, they will appear on the regular pages. I'm using Quark 6.5 and Tiger on Mac.

Are you dragging the master pages down to the document pallette? If you added the guides later, you can redrag the master page on the regular page and see if they show up, but caution, other objects will also reappear on the page if they were repositioned in the document pages.

Try creating a new document, go to a master page and bring out some ruler guides on the page, then drag that master page down to the document pages a few times. The guides should be on it. So, maybe I am not understanding this.

Thank you Pobajo for that, I appreciate your kind assistance.

I'm using Quark 5.1 on Windows/PC.

I tried once again on a new document. I have set up the master guides. I pulled down some ruler guides onto the Master Page. I then dragged the master onto balnk document pages. There still is no sign of the ruler guides when I go into these pages. (I do of course see the master guides)I do have the "show guides" toggle on. Still puzzled.

Regards
Michael

Only other thing I can think of, do you have facing pages selected? If you do, you need to set ruler guides on both the left and right master pages. If you only set up one, the opposite side won't have any rules. Check that,

If it is not that, I guess it could be the lower version you are using, but not sure, as I thought it was always a feature.

Anyone else comment?

Aha, I think you have cracked it!

I set the ruler guides individually for both the r & l master pages.
They showed up in the document pages.

(Also I noted that if one has ruler guides extending outside the master page area, they dont show in the document pages.)

Many thanks for your help.

This demonstrates the usefulness of these forums.

Sincerely
