Hi,

Am going mad at my computer - just got Quark 4.1 running on XP and everything seems fine - however when I try to print to Distiller or a Postscript printer, the .ps file created is just a blank page or pages and I can't make sense of why... Have installed Distiller and the PPD etc as directed by Quark but I can find any info on this particular issue. Can anyone help?

I suspect you are trying to print in CMYK colour and your monitor cannot display this colourspace. Try printing in RGB or greyscale. If you can see the RGB version, chances are your original prints were fine but you just couldn't see them.

was there ever a resolution to this problem, I am having the same issue with quarkxpress 4.1, with all the drivers loaded properly and the PPDs are in place. All I can get however are blank prints. I have tried as suggested, printing as RGB and Grayscale, but can never get it to print anything but blank pages.

I am running Windows XP, fully patched. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I doubt this has anything to do with colourspace. All colour printers print in CMYK, all colour monitors work in RGB. You don't have any problem seeing any other images on screen do you?

It is more likely to be a printer driver issue. #

Can you create PS or Distiller files from any other application?
What happens if you print "normally" rather than to a file? Do you get a printout that way?
What happens if you try to print separations, do you get anything that way?

Turn Quark Xpress Error Reporting on in the print dialogue. It may tell you what is happening. It is possible something is causing a postscript error and the print job gets flushed. The file would have been created already at this point and so could well appear "empty".
