Hi,

I am running netbackup server 6.0 on a unix server with about 100 windows clients. I need to figure out a way of pushing out maintenance updates to those windows clients, without having to login individually to each client and carry out the update manually. Anyone know of an easy way of doing a mass windows update? Would having a windows media server help?

thanks,

cfearn

You cannot do it from UNIX, you must do it from a Windows host. This can simply be done by pushing the agent from 1 Windows client.

comtec, thanks for that. I know I can't do it from the unix server, but I'm not sure how exactly to do it from a windows client. Do you know of any documentation anywhere that would tell me how to do this? I avoid windows servers like the plague, but need to give our windows support guys a way of doing this.

It is actually very simple, when the screen comes up and asks you which clients you would like to update, select a couple and click next.

I suggest just running the setup wizard to view the screen. It is really simple

you're right, it is simple! The windows guys have managed to get it work, thanks for your help.
