Pushing Contact info from GM to Outlook 1

You'll need to use the server agents to sync that information, as well as to setup the correct info in the internet settings. Once completed, you can record a macro that starts the server agents, and place it as a command line switch in the shortcut Michael Phipps

That counds great, its just that I don't know what any of it means, and I have been working with goldmine for 4 years. I guess I haven't worked with it enough huh?

No problem.
Step 1:
Start off by setting up the internet preferences for the login and mail account you want. You can get more information here (start on page 123):
Step 2:
Next, you'll want to setup the sync profile. You can get that info here:
Step 3:
Next, setup your server agent.
go to tools>server agents>agents administrator
choose outlook sync
choose the profile you setup in step 2
decide how frequently the sync should happen, and when the sync should be active
click ok
Step 4:
Finally, you'll need to setup the server agents to start automatically as a command line switch. Do this:
Create a macro to start the agent:
hold shift, control, home to record the macro
select control F10 to bring up the keyboard menu options
select t, then down arrow, then right arrow, then s
click stop on the record a macro window
save the macro
Step 5:
Now you'll need to put the switch on your shortcut.
look in the Goldmine>Macro folder, and find the highest numbered file with your username. They'll start at (username).800 and increment by 1. macros are numbered in order of creation, so the last one with your name is the one you just made.
Go to your shortcut’s properties , and on the target line add the switch /m: and behind the colon place the name of the macro you recorded.
Click apply, ok
Restart goldmine. A process monitor will open in the background to do the initial sync (this may take some time) and will wait for the next interval.
You are done!
A couple of minor notes:
- the outlook sync only works 100% if you are using outlook in a POP3 environment. If you are in a corporate/workgroup setup, some things may not sync so well. Recurring appointments, ICAL files, and some HTML functions may have problems.
- If you want to start the server agents manually, you can do so by clicking tools>server agents>start server agents. The sync (in a NORMAL GM install) goes to the server, not the local machine so you can sync ok from anywhere.
- The sync is only activce when GM is running. That means reminders, automated replies (like out of office) and other rules won’t work until you logon.
