What is the quickest way to pull Schema DDL from an oracle schema (9i)?

I have a schema with tons of tables, indexes, etc... and I want to pull that to another database without pulling the data with it... it will be on a diff. tablespaces, etc...

Thanks for any ideas!

Thanks
JE

JE,

Just do your "exp" with the parameter "rows=n"...the structure will export, but not the data.

Let us know how that works for you.

Thanks. Woudl this require me to create the same tablespaces on teh new system? I'm move these tables to a test system.. and dont care to create the tons of tablespaces that are used on the existing.

JE,

If the old tablespace name does not appear on the target database, then the target db's "imp" will place the tables in the DEFAULT tablespace of the owning Oracle user/schema.

Let us know if you see differing behaviour.

Hi,
If the tablespaces do not exist on the system you are importing into, the tables will go into the default tablespace for the User running the Import..

( Using ignore='Y' may speed things up)
