I have a root folder that contains folders with appropriate apps in them. For testing the root folder is shared with "everyone" and full control on file and share permissions.
After creating a GPO and assigning/publishing the packages nothing is showing up.
The GPO is getting applied as the categories I setup are appearing in the add/remove programs app.
The only clue I have is that a debug showed that the client pc couldn't bind to the domain during the app publishing phase.
Does the root folder need to be published to active directory, or do I publish each individual apps folder...or is it some thing else.

Thanks

When you publish software the only place they show up is in add/remove programs. This seems to be happening, am I correct? If you want the app to install you will have to assign it....

My bad choice of words.
I have tried assigning and publishing it.
I have created a category for the app to appear under in the add/remove progs.
The GPO is being applied as this category shows up.
But the app does not appear, nor when I assign it is auto installed.
I am starting to wonder whether I shouldn't have folder names that contain spaces or if I have to publish the folder to AD.

Check to see if you put the new assignment in the Computer section of the GPO and not the User section.
Check for other policies that cannot be overriden. (GPO for the Domain)
