My host site is not showing my content that I've uploaded from GoLive. The connection is there... on Manage My Account it's showing my index.html, .gif, .pdf.... so the all the files are on the publish server. But, it's not viewing any content. And, the index.html is not showing up on content in the inspector.

Please help!

Did you upload to the right location on the publish server? Most hosts require your website to in a folder named public_html or something. You'll have to check with your host.

I have set up my main home page with a background and two text boxes. On top of the background in two text boxes - one which consists of our address information and the other - text which are my links to gif pages. The address text and the text links when I view as a pdf in golive looks great. But if I preview in Explorer my text does not stay in the same position, it all moves way to the left. I am new to this, so any help would be appreciated-- Does anyone know how to keep the text boxes from moving from their desired position I have placed them in? Thanks in advance for your help.

Lots of possibilities here. Can't diagnose the problem without seeing it. What's the URL?

GoLive's layout tab is not a browser and the preview tab isn't much better. You should always check what your pages look like in the browsers your want to support - usually IE and FF.

Hello Wiser3!

I do not have the page uploaded as yet for you to view on a url. I have figured out that it is not the type that is moving, it is the background which is one gif and I have the type sitting on top of that gif. It appears that you can only set up a background which will only repeat itself? I want just the background to sit and not move, but if it isn't set up as a background in GoLive it appears I cannot control it. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

It is possible to set a background that won't repeat. It sounds like your setting your background using old html methods. To gain full control you need to use the much more modern and powerful CSS controls. GoLive supports CSS but the more recent your version the easier it is to use. What version of GoLive do you have?

All web desing packages, including GoLive, make creating web and maintaining web sites A LOT easier, but to really get full use of them you must have at least a basic understanding of the underlying html, css, javascript, and server side scripting they create. I recommend you at least learn some html and css.
