I'm trying to get Transactional Replication going in SQL 2000. I use the appropriate defaults but I keep getting error message 18483: Could not connect to server DEVELOPMENT because distributor_admin is not defined as a remote login at the server." I tried handling it manually any way I could think of. Tried making my server a remote server, adding distributor_login as a remote login, as well as registering the local system as a distributor. The wizard eventually would not even start and gave a terse message. What is causing this? What can I do? What other pitfalls await me?
