Hello all,
would any of you happen to know what the limit of entries is on a S8710 running 3.0? it seems i only have 2 pages (60 entries) yet on other systems of lesser release i have up to 8 pages. i tired looking in customer options & capacity but i couldnt find anything. any help would be appreciated.

I see the same thing you do, however you can use an entry for blocks of numbers so it is concievable that those 60 entries could encompass 1000's of extensions.

well in my case, i have a multi tenent enviorment, so i may run out of those 60 entries quickly. some clients want a different number for different blocks of numbers, then if the block is broken up,, ugh, caller id blows. how do you guys handle it, do you have standard polices of what you can, cannot or wont do??

Well first of all we are multi location but not multi tennant. So while we have thousands of extensions across multiple states the actuall outbound calling is done via one or two contiguous number ranges for each site.

The only way I would have an issue is if we had more then 60 different sites or more then 60 different sets of CPN's.

Either case is highly unlikely for my environment. I am able to do my five locations although all different fairly easily by forcing DID ranges that work with our dial plan.

For example I have 5000 did's covered with my first five entries....If your ranges are completely disparate then I can see you needing more.

Yeah, i have a client who has 1000 numbers but they are broken up & maybe at the most 100 consecutive. it's weird because on any PBX below 3.0 i have 8 pages. wacky world of avaya.

Try display public-unknown-numbering 0 - 7. You have a total of 8 different pages to work with.

well really that is 16 pages 2 for each number 0 thru 7

ATTN g3rguy:
you only have 8 pages pre CM3.0, in my CM 3.0 i only have 2 administerable pages.

Irisgen try the following commands

change public 1

change public 2

change public 3

change public 4

etc all the way up to 7

This is what is meant by 8 sets of pages...You will get different administratable pages.

ya know, i see what your talking about now, but i'm still in a pinch, example, change public 7, the 7 refers to the dialplan, meaning 7 should be set up for an ext. it just so happens that i use 7 digit dialing, so either way, i'm only allowed 60 entries per digit per dialing plan.

I do not believe it is defined that way. I know it looks like that however I use a 5 digit plan and my only entries (which are working well) are all in "1"

Is all yours actually located in cha public 7 ?

I did not change mine personally between conversion from an R 1.3 to the CM 3.0 (blowback did that) but the cha pub works for me regardless of which list I place it in 1-7...

if nothing is defined it will show all entires, if you did a change pub 7, i bet all of you entries for 5 would show up.
