Hi,

We've recently replaced our NT4 server with 2003 (both Windows and Exchange).
In the exchange system manager, if I goto Administrative Groups/First Administrative Group/Folders/Public Folders
I am prompted for a user name and password. I enter the administator details, only to be asked again. If I cancel the password prompt I get the error message "Access denied. Facility Win32 ID no: 80070005 Exchange System Manager"

I get the same if I goto Administrative Groups/First Administrative Group/Servers/ourserver/First Storage Group/Public folder store/public folders and right click on a public folder and select properties

Any thoughts or ideas? Anything I should try?

Many thanks

Rights and permissions!
Make sure the userid you are using has the appropriate rights.

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

When it asks I enter the administrator details and it does the above!

That may be so, but it is not because you log in as administrator that you have all the rights!

You need one or more of the following :
Enterprise Administrator
Schema Administrator
Local Machine Administrator (if running on member server only)

80070005 is access denied. Also make sure you have exchange full admin under delegated permissions on the Exchange org object in ESM. If you installed as the 5.5 exadmin account, you'll need to log on to that account to delegate.

Hi marcs

The admin account is a member of the groups you listed!
