I installed a second E2K Enterprise Edition server SP3 (on Win2K Adv SP4) which will eventually be our new server. I created public folder replicas in the second server when mail delivery started slowing down.

I frantically remove the replicas from EX2. I started it on EX1 System Manager but did it again on EX2 when even the mouse clicking in EX1 slowed down.

Eventually, public folder owners received conflict error messages which they all deleted and I still have 1,769 EX1-IS@companyname.com messages going to EX2-IS@companyname.com pending in the queue.

Now, e-mail flow is back to normal but I still have those 1,769 messages pending in the queue after several days.

Can I safely delete those replication messages since I verified that all Public Folders should only be in EX1?

Thanks to ALL!

SOLVED IT!!!!...and the culprit is.....Smarthost!!!!

I have smarthost configured in EX1 to connect to our spam filter...I removed it and restart the SMTP service and the 1,769 messages were gone.
