Hi

Any one know how I can put the email address of public address into a distribution group? Sounds simple but the public folder has an email address so you can't create a contact and you can't add SMTP address into distribution groups without a contact can you?

There must be a way of doing this, hopefully?

Thanks

I think I have done what you want although am not sure from your explanation.

Is this right?

Basically you want to add the email address of someone in your public folder to a distribution group?

You go into your public folder and get the email address of whom you want to add. Then go into the Distribution List and choose 'Add New' and add in the name and email address. Then save and close.

I hope this helps

Not quite max. Basically I want to add an SMTP address into a distribution group. Normally you would create a "contact" object and assign an email address to it. Because the public folder has an SMTP email address i could send a mail to the public folder but because you can't add SMTP addresses into distribution lists what I'm trying to do doesn't work.

What i'm trying to do is create a group with USER1, USER2, PublicFolder, so that everyone can read the mail (report) in the public folder and the 2 PDA users can have the mail pushed to them. The easy answer is to send it to the "distrib group + the public folder" but this would appear to be to difficult to remember...
