Is it neccessaray to change the format from post to email for external users to send mail to PF?
Can not seem to get external mail delivered to mail enabled public folder. Internal users are ok, Client Permision for Default & Anon account are eleveated to Author, stampled with smtp.....
Thanks!

Yes, mail enabled. PF has a validSMTP@mydomain.com.
I even created a new User and Distribution group - can post but can not forward to public folder....same result.
It all indicates to user rights at folder but like I said Anon has Contributer.
Mnay thanks!

There was a hotfix for that, I think it was kb 817809

hi xmsre,
I thought that SP2 already took care of this or is the reg key supposed to be added even with SP2?

Yeah, but you have to set it to 1. The default is 0.

still no mail even after the reg. key change and restarting store service.
It all points towards user rights but annon. access is elevated to Contributor...

not sure if it matters but smtp log of:
-Message delivered locally to pf@domain.com
-Message scheduled to retry local devliery

is seen only on FE server and it never gets submitted to advanced queueing as other working mail sent to user.
Thanks!

Ok I fiannly resolved this.
My public folder had some leftovers from FE server...it had a public store associated from FE server. I guess it was not removed ones I removed the PF store on FE. So, removed it using ADSIedit!
Thanks!!!

If you had a leftover public store, and hierarchy replication had not comppleted, then all the content replication queues for local delivery until hierarchy replication completes.

...which now explains some of the mail in local delivery queue with 'Hierarchy subject; I was too focused on tracking mail to problematic folder that I overlooked it....'now' it all fits :)
Thanks for the help xmsre!!!
All the best!

You are right TweakMYbox, but that was stated in the 1st post so that was not the issue.
All the best!
