Public Folder Calendar Appts Disappearing

We have been using public folder calendars to maintain appointments. Due to several complex filters on start/stop dates, the re-curring feature does not work correctly, so we copy future appts using CTRL and drag & drop.

However, various appointments that have been previously copied are now disappearing from the future dates. The work is being documented as having happened but when viewing the day's schedule later on, the appts are gone.

I have limited access to only essential users, taking away ALL delete rights etc, double checked all the customized views, reviewed server settings, talked to users, etc, etc. to no avail.

We are using Exchange 5.5 sp4 with Outlook 2000sp1.

I am at a loss as to what to check next!
Has anyone experienced this behavior? Is there any way I can audit activity in a public folder?
The current mgmt. sentiment is to scrap Outlook for this.

I am getting desperate...

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Can you illustrate more clearly how these are being copied? Where are you copying these appointments from and where are you copying them to? Are you copying these appointments from the public folder to a calendar in outlook?

Any articles from here help you?

We copy appointments to simulate recurrence. e.g. If somebody has a recurring appt Monday at 9am we drag and drop (While holding the CTRL key)that appointment to the next Monday and so forth. All copying/moving is done strictly within the one calendar. I'd like to limit the ability to MOVE appts, and just allow creates, but that appears not to be possible with the permission structure.

Thanks for the link! but there is nothing new there that I havn't seen yet.

I would think the way you are moving the appointments should be correct unless this is a permissions issue. Maybe reeavaulate the permissions level you have everyone at and play around with the permissions and test.
