We set our proxy settings through GP, sometimes the proxy settings don't apply causing the connection wizard to run, as the users don't have permission to configure this it errors and they can't access the internet unless they reboot.
All the other GP setting apply as you can see by the restrictions still applying has anyone got any ideas as to why this happens?

Were running 2k3 server with 2k pro clients.

Thanks.

Ahhhgh this is driving me mad, had to resort to using a script to set the settings.

Would still like to get to the bottom of the prob if anyone has had similare experience.

Thanks.

We use Roaming.man profiles and have groups of people logging on at the same time sometimes up to 60.

Could this amount of users logging on at the same time affect group policies appling?

var WSHShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell");

This is what's in ours if you put it on the desktop and click it it sets the appropriate proxy connection.

WSHShell.RegWrite("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\ProxyServer", "proxy.whatever:80");
WSHShell.RegWrite("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\ProxyEnable", 1, "REG_DWORD");

WSHShell.RegWrite("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings\\ProxyOverride", "*.isp.org.uk;server1;<local>");
