Hi, I'm kind of new to DW (about 3 weeks), and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I've noticed on some sites that were made in DW, that when you select view/source you see a shortened version of the code with something to the effect of !Public Document! and then just what appears to be a link to the actual code. I would appreciate any info on how this is accomplished, and also if there is any way to protect your site from those little uninvited hyperlinks that appear on text. Thanks in advance.

fjp476, what site have you seen that on?? I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Now that I said that, I went back and checked and it was normal, maybe it was somewhere else.. I'll find it.
Thanks
Frank

OK, but as far "hiding code" goes its fruitless to think the one can hide the code. (Unless you use ASP or CFM)...
As a web designer (and after viweing tons of posts like that on tek-tips) you cna't hide it but you can minuplate it. With such Javscripts as "no-right click" script, or having like 30 or 40 blank spaces in the HTMl file itself... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Thanks man, I'll check into the alternatives.

In addition, because DreamWeaver is known for not modifying code is half the reason it is so popular. The other half is just because it is such a great product. :-)
