when i right click on a movie clip and go to properties, it will not let me add titles and comments etc. i am the only user of my home pc set as administrator with all read/write available.

if i move the clip to my xp machine i can change the comments etc, then when i pass it back to the 2000pro machine i can alter the comments as long as i dont run the clip first, when it has been run on the 2000 machine it "locks up" again?!?!?

1) does anybody know why this is?
2) is it possible to alter comments etc on my 2000 machine without having to pass it back and forth to an xp box?

any input appreciated! If somethings hard to do, its not worth doing - Homer Simpson

ok I just tried to chang a video clip on my 2k box,
and like you said .. it said it was read only ... and the read only box was clearly NOT checked ..
So on a hunch .. I checked the read only box .. and then I set the title and some other bs .. when I clicked on apply, you guessed it .. it was read only .. LOL ..
So I unchecked the read only box .. and then went back to the comments and they were still there.. cool, So I clicked apply and they were accepted.

so leave it to Uncle Bill to force you to set the read only box before you can change something .. kinda like clicking start to stop .. LOL

Anyway I hope this will help you.

cheers for the input but still no luck!!

ive tried different combinations of read only, apply etc but it still wont let me alter the comments, title subject etc. (there is still a note at the bottom saying the file has read only properties and it wont let me type into any of the fields)

i have got around it by changing the properties over my network from my xp box (some super network security goin on)

this must be a bug or MS really stuffed up big!! If somethings hard to do, its not worth doing - Homer Simpson
