Problem: Main Hard drive on our Avaya G3CFSV12 crashed. We had a backup hard drive and were able to recover by sliding the backup into the main hard drives slot. Now they want us to build another backup hard drive and put it into the backup slot on the processor board. Since I believe this PBX is old generation, we cannot transfer the licence file over to the backup hard drive without Avaya or a BP intervention. I actually remember reading a post on this site about that. Is there a way to transfer the file without Avaya/BP doing it for us. I think we may have to use an RFA webpage?

Any thoughts? I say we cant do it.

use a disk duplicator, you connect the 2 drives up to it, press a button, and the drive is copies bit by bit. You will of course have to remove the drive to put in in the duplicator.. and the drives must be the same model & type.

personally, I would replace the system at this point, it is ancient.

Mitch,

I read the following thread 690-1513812 and I figured that I had to go the route that was explained on the thread. Well someone is going to the site within the next couple of weeks and maybe they can do the disk duplicator.
