I have a Word template that was created in Office 97 and has some pretty heavy VBA macros in it. My problem is that I am now using Office 2000 and any time I try to look at the code I get a error message saying "Project is unviewable". I have searched the web and have only found very lame excuses for why this is happening....lame because they are out from left field and don't work.

I have tried using Office 95 to view the code but it just doesn't let me edit it ...only delete it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

One the most critical points being, is that you need to be able to open the original file.

For example - if you have a global template with lots of macros (which is what I do - rarely, if ever, do I have macros in Normal.dot), that template is loaded at startup. The macros are available, but if you try and view them in the VB editor it returns that error - "Project is unviewable"

This occurs even if the template is created whatever is the existing version.

The article mentioned is good, and worth reading. But try opening the original template file, if possible.

Hope this helps.
