Programming vb.net newbie 1

I ordered vb.net standard 2003 and a course called vb.net training course by deitel@nieto. Cannot wait to get it. I was wondering if any of you had advice for a newbie trying to learn vb that may come in handy.

Are there big differences between 2002 and 2003 vb.net?
