Programming code for IP Phones

We will be adopting IP telephony at our facility soon. I was interested in knowing if the programming of an IP phone was similiar to the programming of a digital style phone(6400 or 8400 series)?
 
yes it is.......in regards to the stations themselves. but there is a little bit more involved depending on what you want to do down the road

As stated the stations themselves are very similar in the programming method...Buttons ext etc.

The big difference is that with hardphones you will also need to configure some settings via a TFTP file server or an HTTP fileserver as part of the firmware package that each phone must use to function properly.

This is discussed in depth in the Avaya Lan Administrator Guide or in the 46xx manuals.

Not difficult just different then TDM based equipment in that respect.
