Right now we have a button on each phone programed for a feature 6-4-5(line pool access code) for our analog line. We are switching over to a PIR line next week, is there anyway to program a button so they don't have to hit the intercom button and then the 9 to dial out? Our CFO is insiting the program a button so it is the same as it it now.

I have no tech, I programmed it. F469, invalid code.

Yes, Every set has to be set up for HOTLINE / EXTERNAL and what ever the destination code is. You can leave prime line as I/C
press handsfree or pickup the hand set and you have an outside trunk.
Feature 64 plus code will not work any more.

The normal outside line on a pbx is "9" for an outside line
i dont know of a way to create a button for that on a pri but you will have to create a rout001 and a destination code "9"
that points to rout 001
you will also probably have change your external (from 9) to none before you can use the 9 for a dest code.
give everyone access to PRI A or where ever your pri is
and they can press intercom "9" for an outside line. you can then turn on second dial tone so they hear a DT after dialing the (9)

you will probably have to change the number of digits dialed to 11 or more to allow for LD. you might have to change it for even for local calls . I think mine was only 7 digits by default.

yes i think feat *1 9 autodial button works in place of the line pool. although i don't think you get second dialtone .

Ok, I tried to program a speed dial, I did F*4, 256, pressed intercom key, then 9. When I try to use it, is says unkown number. Any thoughts? I always tries the F*1, intercom 9, same results, unknown number.

Thanks

F*4 is for external phone numbers.
You enter a number, dont press Intercom.

Your also doing F*1 wrong
It's F*1, press an available button to use, press 9.

You say you have no tech? where are you to not be able to call a tech?

The system was intalled in house, purchased from a vendor years ago, so we have no current tech to call, or else I would. Is programing this unusual? I would think this would be fairly simple?

You say pressing intercom, then 9 does allow you to dial out? Then press f*1, the button you want to program, 9, then "ok".

It's not unusal...it's complex as far as Configuration and Line programming...specialy PRI.

Your PRI will not work when the Telco delivers it unless you get them to program the system to match their settings.
Most Telco's deliver the line and Vendors do the rest.

As for button programming thats is easy.

3 of us have now told you to program a button for external autodial:
F*1, press a button, press 9
Cant get any easier.

There is alo another method that might work for you.
F*82 and select AUTO
This will allow you to just start dialing from the number pad using 9 first (or what ever you end up as a PRI/Dest code.
You wont need to press any line pool button or Intercom key.

Try it with your current setup but start dialing with 5 first....according to your first post your pool codes is currently 5.
