My company has a lobby phone that only allow calls within the company. Now the lobby guard would like to make outside calls if necessary from that phone. Could some one please show me how to reprogram the phone with some kind of access code for that purpose.

Thank you much.

Thanks for quick response acewarlock. Here it is:

If you want to let them dial local calls only, you can bump the NCOS level up to "1" or whatever the FRL is on the RLI that allows local calls. You can try "1" and see if it works.

change the NCOS on the phone to a higher number depending on where he is calling. I suggest you print your phone and change his/her NCOS to the same as yours. Again, lower numbers usually mean closer distances and of course higher ones reflect longer distances.

Hope this helps.

Thank you both for suggestions. I already know how to play with NCOS and TGAR but in this situation we only let the security guard to dial out NOT anybody else from the lobby phone. So I need to give him an access code to do that. I'm think between Trunk Access Code and Authorization code but not sure pro and cons of either one. Please have your comments if you could. Thanks

Authorization Codes are what you are going to probably want to use. Look in your Software Features Guide that is a good place to start. Or I'm sure some one here has theres set up and can help. You can also look at the site below they always have some good information.

Your TGAR is set to 0, that means that phone can dial any trunk access code and make calls.

Thanks guys. Appreciated information provided. As always.
