When a user logs into a server their entire user directory is being copied over causing slow logins.

What is the best practice for only copying over only what is necessary and leaving everything else in the user directory where their profile is and leaving behind items such as files and folders created and stored by the user in their root directory?

I am using Folder Redirection in a GPO which is working. I just don't want any of the stuff. Should their profile path be different from the Home Directory or using Terminal Service Profile instead?

Thank you

Yes their profile path should be different to their Home directory. And use a TS profile too.

Should the profile be stored on a Domain Controller?

Should the User Profile path be the same as the Terminal Service profile path?

Thank you

Profile can live anywhere.

Not the two should be separate.
