OK Day 2, I do make a serious attempt before posting anything. I have tried every set up logging into this system, 8 none 1, 7 none 1, not to mention 9600 and all those selections tty, Wyse50, wyse100 even rip, and I'm stumped. Sometimesand I stress sometimes I can get into the switch but if I try 15 times only once will work and it'll be jibberish characters any suggestions? and whatever happen to our friday stories, I remember blowing steam off on here with the infamous ID10T errors for the week before I went overseas.

always used to find on older option switches that a port set up for 8-N-1 sometimes would only work as 7-E-1 as above use VT100.

Yupper and tried that as well, I tried every config perhaps the far end?

What sort of system/software is it and what port. Is it an option (61,81,etc) switch if so what sort of card is it provided off (QSDI,MSDL,etc)?

Are you sure your SCC's dip switch is set to 9600?

management came down on any posts that were non tech.. makes sense, there are millions of place to post jokes.. as for your procomm problem..

when you get in with jebberish it's usually speed not imulation.. i notice on your original post you did not list any of the x20 emulations.. vt320, 8 none and one seems to work 99 percent of the time.. don't dial in and try each one, be sure under view you enable quick select line so you can roll through them post connect.. when i did tons of dial up and had trouble, i found the right connection and saved a dial up config for that site.. best bet if you have a core modem is to hit that, seems to be more stable the secondary connections.. look at the default for your internal modem under start settings modems.. most of the problems i have helped with were not procom but windows not allowing procomm setting to work.. you know the drill, mr gates knows best.. his software controls because he's always right
