I was working with my local Nortel tech to upgrade from 6.1 XC to 7.0 XC. The system defaulted!!

(The tech, who has been working on Norstars for years, had a preminition something would go wrong...I'm the one who said no problem if we've got a backup...)

I restored the system from the backup, but the System ID had changed. So the PRI codes are gone as well.

The Nortel tech is no longer an authorized tech, so he suggested I call the the vendor that I origianally purchased the equipment from. They gave me the old password keys and said I could get a regression key from Nortel, but that their company was not authorized to get it for me.

When I called Nortel, they said that I had to go through a Local Partner. I've called several of the local partners, but all are closed because of the weekend.

Any suggestions to getting things running before business hours Monday, when the boss will come in rambling about how he's "loosing business by the minute".

You could call a vendor and open up an emergency ticket. The problem may then be that Nortel's department for that code may be closed for the weekend as well. What if you were to bring the system back up on the original release of software?

After the post, I did get three callbacks!!

One local vendor was too busy to help until Tuesday.

The second local vendor had to get authorization from his manager and will get back to me tomorrow.

The third vendor, a referal from my MCK vendor, tried to help me. Be said that when he looked up my system, he could not find my first PRI code and that when he tried to generate a new key code from my second PRI code, the Nortel system gave him an error.

So his recommendation was to find someone to sell me a PRI enabler key over the weekend and he would remotely generate the key.

Sigh...So it looks like I'll have to wait for Monday morning to take care of things, and get the wrath of the boss. :-(

If the error is like "Invalid Authcode" or "Authcode has already been used"
then buy a new PRI enabler

If it is a system error (which has been happening quite a while for me in CP) - try again after a little while
