problems with users modifying dl's

I have set users as owners of distribution lists. Then I went to security properties of the group and gave user who needs to be able to modify members Read, Write, Add/Remove Self as Member, Read Phone and Mail Options, and Write Phone and Mail Options. When user tries to modify members, they get a you don't have permissions error. Do you need to be running Enterprise version for this to work?

Any thoughts appreciated.

No, they get the same not sufficient permissions error whether they are trying to add/remove themselves or someone else.
