Unfortunately I'm responsible for a sytem that was configured wrong many years ago.

Our first trunk group is composed of eleven loop start lines in a circular hunt. Here are the settings:

TRUNK GROUP

Group Number: 1 Group Type: wats CDR Reports: y
Group Name: CP3040 COR: 81 TN: 1 TAC: 801
Direction: two-way Outgoing Display? y
Dial Access? y Busy Threshold: 99 Night Service: 1309
Queue Length: 0 Country: 1 Incoming Destination: attd
Comm Type: voice Auth Code? n
Trunk Flash? n

TRUNK PARAMETERS
Trunk Type: loop-start
Outgoing Dial Type: tone Incoming Dial Type: tone
Trunk Termination: rc Disconnect Timing(msec): 500

Sig Bit Inversion: none
Analog Loss Group: 6 Digital Loss Group: 11
Trunk Gain: high

Disconnect Supervision - In? y Out? n Cyclical Hunt? n
Answer Supervision Timeout: 10 Receive Answer Supervision? n

ADMINISTRABLE TIMERS
Send Incoming/Outgoing Disconnect Timers to TN465 Ports? n
Incoming Disconnect(msec): 500 Outgoing Disconnect(msec): 500
Outgoing Dial Guard(msec): 1600
Incoming Glare Guard(msec): 1500 Outgoing Glare Guard(msec): 1500

Ringing Monitor(msec): 5200 Incoming Seizure(msec): 500
Outgoing End of Dial(sec): 10 Outgoing Seizure Response(sec): 5
Programmed Dial Pause(msec): 1500
Flash Length(msec): 540

The problem is that I'm getting complaints that when someone dials 9+ they're connected to an incoming call. I'd think the glare set at 1.5 seconds would be good but I bet glare check really doesn't work well on loops. From what I recall it works best with ground start.

Any ideas how to fix this short of transitioning to PRI?

When Cyclical Hunt is set to N. The Definity will always pick the first member of the trunk group. If the first member is the "main number" then there is your problem. Leave it set to no, but reverse your trunk group. example. If your trunk is 1. 555-1111, 2. 555-2222, 3. 555-3333, 4. 555-4444, etc. Then try chaning it to 1. 555-4444, 2. 555-3333, 3. 555-2222, 4. 555-1111. This way incoming calls from the LEC will come bottom up and out going calls from you will go top down.

Also, set your dial access to N.
