Hi,

This isn't really much of a problem...just very irritating. A couple of weeks after installing XP Pro, I have begun to have problems with the task bar auto hide function. I have it set to use the auto hide, but after a while the task bar will no longer pop up. I have to minimize all open windows (after doing this the task bar is "up") then click on the desktop to get the task bar to hide again...then all is well for 15-20 minutes then it starts all over again. Does anyone possibly have any ideas?

As an aside...this happens no matter what programs I have running at the time...there isn't any particular program that seems to trigger this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

just as a troubleshooting option...do you also have system tray hiding things after a certain time on no use...meaning do yuo get that little arrow in the task bar to expand the system tray....maybe there is a 'bug' when hiding the task bar and icons in the system tray...try ...setting the option of hiding the system tray icons after no activity to off and see if this fixes the prob??!! Just a suggestion!!!

Thanks for the responses to my problem. The answers to the questions posed are....No, I don't have the "hide inactive icons" turned on, or the "group similar taskbar buttons". And yes, I do have the "keep taskbar on top" checked.

I just can't figure out what has suddenly brought this on. I have had the hide function set since installing with no problems at all. Then all of a sudden it started happening. Thinking that maybe another program I have installed was causing the problem I went back and uninstalled all recent installs...with no luck. I guess I will keep digging!

Thanks again for your responses
