I'm working on access 2000 and need to start setting up security and permissions for the database - i can't find the wrkgadm.exe file that is for setting up work groups etc.

I thought maybe I'd just not installed the complete MS Access program, but a reinstall hasn't helped.
Am i missing something? I'm just looking on C: for wrkgadm.exe... should i be looking elsewhere? Presumably it'll be with all the office utilities etc.

Any advice?

I recommend using the Windows Search funtion (found in the Start menu) and for your search path, choose My Computer. This will search all local drives, and any network drives it can see.

This might take awhile, and can really bog down your system. It might be best to do it just before you leave for lunch, a meeting, or something like that.

Thanks - I'd already searched for it, but definitely don't have it.

I was wondering if I'd got the right name for it, or else if there are different steps to follow for access 2000 than for older versions.

I've read up on how to set up security and thought that was the first step. So what to do if I don't have it?

I'm stumped. The file is named WRKGADM.EXE on my system, and it's in the folder where Office was installed.

I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.

I don't know if you are at work or at home, but if you are at work it may be sitting on a network drive instead of your c: drive. You may want to do the Find search there.
