When attempting to restore a database on SQL I seem to get the following error message.

"The database you are attempting to restore was backed up under a different unicode local ID (33280) or unicode comparison style(0) then the unicode local ID (1033) or unicode comparison style (196609) currently running on this server. Backup or restore operation terminated abnormally."

I have checked all regional settings to make sure that they are the same, I have not yet applied service pack 4.

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate some help, thank you in advance.

Hi ash786!

You have to use same sortorder an character set in database and the backup file.

Check sortorder an character set in the backuped database.
Use: exec sp_helpsort

When you have the information about sortorder an character set, use the utility "rebuild master" rebuildm.exe on your database.

Note that all databases on will be deleted on your SQL-server, when you run rebuildm.exe.

You need to read Booksonline before runing rebuildm.exe.
