Hi,
I usually work with the web so keeping image size small my main concern. The problem is that my girlfriends using images around 120mb for her work and she's having major rendition problems. She got 256 of ram at the mo and i've been advised that because her PCs quite old upgrading the RAM wont make much of a difference.

Any ideas on configuring the PC for image work or performance enhancing upgrades??

Check out the recommended system requirements on the box of you or your girlfriends copy of adobe Photoshop®

Well for best performance in Photoshop, as much RAM as you can get (Win98 can't use more than 512mb RAM), as fast a processor as you can get/use and Plenty of harddrive space.

Also Photoshop works best if you use another drive than the one with the OS installed on

*quote from Adobe Photoshop Help files*

"For best performance, scratch disks should be on a different drive than any large files you are editing.
Scratch disks should be on a different drive than the one used for virtual memory.
Scratch disks should be on a local drive. That is, they should not be accessed over a network.
Scratch disks should be conventional (non-removable) media.
Raid disks/disk arrays are good choices for dedicated scratch disk volumes.
Drives with scratch disks should be defragmented regularly."

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.
