problems with .htacces 301 Permanent Redirect

HI, im trying to rewdirect using this code saved as .htacces

301 Permanent Redirect

Redirect 301 /proind_units.htm

http://www.wandptraining.co.uk/index_new.php

any ideas, ive never done this before so not sure where im going wrong
