I am trying to use a boot disk created under Symantic Ghost 8.0. The driver on the machine I wish to clone is the Broadcom Netxtreme NIC with a B57XX chipset. I have tried everything from using the Broadcom NetXtreme B57 drivers provide by ghost, to upgrading the driver, to modifying the protocol.ini file on the boot disk and nothing has worked. The machine I am trying to clone is an HP bc1500 desktop blade. This is the error message that I am getting:

DETECTING PCI NETWORK CARD
LOCATING PCI BIOS....FOUND
SEARCHING [BROADCOM NETXTREME B57 CHIPSET]
UNABLE TO FIND NETWORK CARD

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Does the machine have more than one NIC?

Has this LAN connection worked ok in the past?

I take it the LAN connection is on-board the mobo. Check the main BIOS to see that it's not been disabled.

Hello G0AOZ,

Yes, the blade as two NICs both are the same model, they are also integrated in the motherboard. I check the bios and they are both enabled. I tried to use the boot disk on all the blades in the enclosure, with no luck.

No idea if it will have any effect on your problem, but try disabling one of the on-board NIC's if you're able to...

This is addressed on the Broadcom website FAQ in the ethernet NIC section
