Exchange 5.5 was installed on a win2k server that was a member of a NT 4.0 domain. The 4.0 machines have been eliminated, and active directory was installed on the win2k box.

Now Exchange services won't start up, and I can neither uninstall exchange nor re-install it. Exchange administrator will not come up either as none of the supporting services are running.

I suspect that it has to do with permissions of the service account, which was the machines administrator account. I have changed that to the domains administrator account but still nothing works.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Were you using in the old configuration Key Management Service (KMS) in Microsoft Exchange Server ?
