Problems with columns

Hi
A friend of my have trouble to change the width of column. She cant set it higher then 8.39 I´ve tried to change the standardwidth but nothing helps. Does she need to reinstall office?

What happens when she tries? Error message?

Does this happen in all files or just one?

Excel.

No error message. We just can´t change the width higher just lower. And it´s in all files I think...
