Hi Everyone:

I have been using Access 2003 on my Windows XP machine with no problems. Now I have installed it on my Windows 7 machine and I have been getting various error messages. The references on both computers are the same. Some of the messages are as follows:

1) "There was an error excuting the command"...when I tried to open a report

2) "Runtime error 3085 . Undefined function "format" in expression" ...when trying to open a report

3) "Enter Paramater Value ...Trim"

Any help would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Sophia

Sorry for the delay in replying, but I've been away.

I have the same references as before and I have complied the code. Any other suggestions?

Is there a maximum number of times you can install Access 2003 before things stop working? The reason I say this is because I had a similar problem when I was using a trial version of Access 2003 years ago.

I only have one MDB, so I opened the sample database and noticed that they have a reference named Microsoft Office Object 11 Library, which is one that I didn't use on my previous computer. It seems to work now!!!!!!! I wonder if that is new with Windows 7? It's not needed on the database that I have on my Windows XP laptop.

Thank you!

Hi everyone: I'm having the same problem again with the database. I've tried reseting the references and reinstalling the software. Do you think there is something else interferring with the database? I see that the client has installed some type of registry software. Could this be interferring? Any help would be appreciated.

What did you find when you checked the references? Were any MISSING? Did you try un-checking and re-checking any references? Does your code compile?

I should have looked at my previous response when I fixed it the first time. Windows 7 seems to require the Microsoft Office Object 11 Library, which I don't use on the prior to Windows 7 computers. So, when I compared the two references, I should try to remember that Windows 7 needs the extra reference.

Thanks again Duane for making me realize that is where I should have looked further.
