Problems Running 2 Different Applications on a Btrieve 7 server

Running Btrieve 7.0, SP5 on a Novell 5.0, SP5 OS.
2 btrieve clients apps seems to be colliding on the server. One is running slowly, and the other is losing data.
Are there any specifications for btrieve configuration on the server that takes into the account the two applications? Server is a Proliant 1600 with 200MB Ram.

Yes, you would have to adjust cache, files, and handles at a minimum. It's likely that there is more going on here and configuration needs to be checked as well if you are losing data. I would suspect that there are some local engines or old components lurking around mucking things up. You should first get the recommended settings from both application vendors and then contact Pervasive Sofware (

salessupport@pervasive.com, or 1-800-BTR-IEVE) and ask for Support and they will be able to assist you since 7 is still a a fully supported product version, though it may cost you the price of a Support call. You might want to talk to Sales as they can probably put you in contact with a Pervasive Solution Provider or consultant in your area who has experience in troubleshooting and tuning this sort of installation and could probably get it running well in a very short time.
