Hi All,

I am embarking on doing documentation for my department and I want to make sure that it all comes from the same Word template so the styles are all the same.

I also want others to be able to create their own documentation and for their Word application to default to the master style template instead of normal.dot. It would also be helpful if I could make sure that they don't add new styles to the master template so that it can be kept in check.

Any help on this would be great!

Cheers

Hi Jimbo,

A couple of suggestions:

1. You can create a formal template for users and put it on your network. Then point Workgroup Templates in Tools/Options/File Locations to that location.

2. You can use the Forms toolbar to create fields and then lock down the form when you've created what you want. This way, no one will be able to overwrite.

HTH,

Best,

Hi Blue,

Thanks for the tip. When I get back to doing this stuff again I will let you know how I get on!
