I connected mylaptop to a switch, the connectivity to switch is flickering, please provide the solution

What do you mean the switch is flickering? Are you talking LED? Are you saying that you are seeing droped payloads?

My guess is that you either have a) half/duplex problem etc. (In which case hard configure the speed and duplex settings on the port) or b) you have a miss configuration on that port.

Please can you tell me the configuration of your lap top nic (i.e. is it set to auto negotiate?) and paste the code relating to your port on the switch and I will then see if I can provide you with a solution...

I work for IDL ( and my website is ;)

If you mean your NIC connects and disconnects with the switch then I believe there may be a problem with the physical contact between the UTP cable and your NIC port.

Make sure that:

1) the cable is fully plugged in and you cannot pull it out easily
2) if it's fully plugged in, try to push in and pull out a little bit and see if this will disturb the connection. If this will disturb the connection, check if the copper pins inside your NIC port is distorted or not. Or you can also try to use a new UTP cable.

When I connect a computer to the switch, the only thing that flickers, is the activity led. This is normal behaviour.
My other led has a green colour and doesn't flicker, which means that I have a valid connection to my switch.

What coulor of the led is flickering?
What is the description of the flickering led?
What type of switch do you use?
