In my network, I have a w2k3 SUS Server and a Windows 2000 Advanced Server. The registry of the w2k Advanced Server was modified that he pulls the updates from the local SUS Server.
So as I logon to the W2k Advanced server, on the lower right corner there is a message "new updates are available, klick here to download them"
when this is done, another message "click here to install the updates" when I click on "detail", there are two updates, one of them is for outlook. After the updates are installed, I have to restart the computer.
So far, so good. But the Problem is, on the next day, Windows prompts me for the same updates to install again! so I repeat the procedure, and on the next day the OS wants to install the same two updates and so on and so forth.
It seems that the SUS server or the SUS client doesen't recognize that those updates are already installed.
In the Event Viewer, under Windows Updates it states that the Updates are installed correctly.
How can I solve this problem?
